Following the Kartvelian etymology of 'pyramid', we should pay attention to a Cappadocian river that bore a name of Πύραμος (Puramos) in ancient times. It interprets very well as 'wheaty' river for 'puri' being 'wheat' in Georgian and -am being a Megrelian adjective suffix. Today it's the Ceyhan river which looks like this:

Could it be 'wheaty'? Quite likely. Especially given that '...the agricultural regions, watered by the Ceyhan River, produce wheat, rice, and legumes...'.
