If you are looking for a bright example of a historical falsification, here it is.
Someone once said that Polovtsi were Turks. This claim has no proofs. But it's repeated in all historical textbooks.
The famous Georgian king David Agmashenebeli (the Builder), as every one knows, married the daughter of Polovets (Cuman-Kipchak) king Atrak. Her name was Guranducht. Those who follow the Between Two Iberias project closely, should remember the article about Cumans' (Polovtsi) Iranian origin, not Turk. This hypothesis is argumented.
And now have a look at an article in Russian Wikipedia, which confidently tells us that 'Guranducht is a common Iranian name, while we know nothing about her true Turk name...':
