άργυρ (argur)

Greeks used to make adjectives with the help of UR-suffix. We see it on the example of 'argur' - anything related to silver or money, like in άργΰρ-άγχη - 'silver quinsy'. 'Silver' itself (as well as 'quicksilver' and 'money') was called άργυρος (arguros).

The UR-suffix is Kartvelian. The word 'arguros' in fact is 'arguri' (არგური) containing the ARG-root (mARGal) and translating as 'megrelian'.
