APA

This Ancient Greek particle has meaning of 'isn't it' (Russian 'неужели', 'разве не'). So, a negative shade. It's important. Greeks didn't have ARA as direct 'no/not', but used it for indirect negative connotations, like the above. That means they didn't have 'ara' as 'no', but HAD A FEELING that it was close to 'no'.
