SARMATIA

This toponym has been addressed by us already twice. We assumed in might contain such roots as ARMAZI (old Iberian god) or ARMI ('unfriendly' in Kartvelian).

The third assumption may be the most correct. The root ARMAT in Greek means 'cart' or 'chariot'. The Sarmatians were known as living all their lives out of carts.

But the structure in any case remains Kartvelian toponymic:

SA + ARMAT(I) + A
