HORVATIA

The word HORVATIA has no reasons not to be looked at from the same pan-Kartvelian point of view, for it obviously possesses the same Laz toponymic -AT-suffix.

The root HORV- (or HOR-, since -V may be a suffix) may be the part of HORVELA (ხორველა) meaning cholera.

From the other hand, the word HORVATIA is considered by some to be a derivation of KURATIA, which still has the toponymic suffix in question combined with the root KUR-, which means 'ear' in Kartvelian.
