HAZAR and BULGAR

Similarly to Tartar, we have a right to assume that these two toponyms also include the Svan -ar suffix meaning 'place of...'.

Thus, Hazar may be interpreted as 'land of hazi', with 'haza' meaning 'yard' in Svan. 'Land of yards'.

Bulgar is more mysterious, since bulgi root can not be seen in Kartvelian family for now. But at the same time, we can say that, given the B-V interchangeability, as well as Bulgar-Bolgar ambiguity, the roots Bulg in Bulgar (Bolgaria) and Volg in Volga are very likely to be the same thing.
