USERDNIY

'Serde' in Svan is 'woe, trouble'. It's already been said that the words 'serditiy' (angry) and 'serdtse' (heart) may have come from this root (these two words, by the way, are considered to be kindred).

But the deeper, the more exciting. The word 'userdniy' (zealous) contains not only that root, but also the Kartvelian negative U-prefix (means absense). Thus we obtain 'userdniy' as zealous and diligent who with his assiduous efforts leads away from woes and troubles.
